How long does an epoxy floor take to install?

Most residential garages are ground, coated and finished in a single day. You can walk on the floor that evening and park on it about 24 to 48 hours later, depending on temperature and the size of the job.

What makes your epoxy different from a store-bought kit?

We install high quality epoxy. Store kits and budget contractors typically use water-based or solvent-thinned products that are far thinner once cured. That is why they commonly flake, peel and yellow within a year or two. Our system is thicker, bonds properly to a mechanically prepared surface, and holds its color.

Do you grind the concrete first?

Yes, always. Proper surface preparation is the single biggest factor in how long a coating lasts. We mechanically grind the slab so the epoxy bonds into the concrete instead of sitting on top of it. Anyone who skips this step is selling you a coating that will fail.

Will an epoxy floor crack or peel?

A correctly prepared and correctly installed high quality epoxy floor should not peel. We repair existing cracks and spalling as part of the job. Concrete can always move, but the coating stays bonded rather than lifting off in sheets.

Is it slippery when wet?

A smooth gloss finish can be slick when wet, like any hard surface. The decorative flake systems add natural texture, and we can add a non-slip additive to the clear coat if you want extra grip — just ask when we quote the job.

How do I clean and maintain it?

A dust mop and occasional mopping with warm water is all it takes. The surface is non-porous, so oil, brake fluid and road salt wipe up instead of soaking into the concrete. Avoid dragging sharp metal edges across it.

Can you coat a patio, walkway or pool deck?

Yes. Beyond garages we coat patios, walkways, commercial kitchens, warehouses, showrooms and shop floors. Outdoor areas get a UV-stable top coat suited to sun exposure.

Can you fix a floor someone else installed?

Often, yes. If a previous coating is flaking or yellowing, we grind the old material off and start from bare concrete. We will tell you honestly during the estimate whether the slab is a good candidate.
